A Rehearsal Dinner Nod to the Groom

A Lowcountry Wedding Feature

We love a good theme, and Willie and Rebecca’s Mexico style rehearsal dinner certainly awakened our design senses.  It only seemed fair to incorporate Willie’s New Mexico roots with the pending Charleston style wedding for the southern bride the following day.  And we welcomed the opportunity.

Here in the lowcountry, our destination brides are here for a true southern flavor, which we also love to create, and create it quite often.  However, introducing a different style and feel for one aspect of the weekend, keeps your guests guessing and gives them an unexpected experience.  From the food to the decor and all the entertainment (of course a piñata was the main attraction), the evening was festive, to say the least and a nice refreshing break for the Loluma team.

Sneak Peak {Jenna & Joseph}

We have been waiting with bated breath for Jenna & Joseph’s spine-tingling wedding images, and, I must say, Hunter McRae did not disappoint.  Check out a few teasers of this stunner and stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.  We knew our darling Jenna would be gorgeous, but, WOW!  Congrats again to this incredibly special pair.

Eric + Laura’s Wedding Film

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Adam Siegel of Siegel Films, so we were thrilled when Laura and Eric decided to invest in his talents for their life long memories in this film of their recent wedding at the William Aiken House.  Enjoy!

From Inspiration to Reality

We love the commencement of the design process.  When we meet with a client to begin brainstorming event style, we look at a variety of medians before coming up with the final look.  The client’s clothing style, favorite travel spots, their personal or hopeful home style, all in addition to inspiration photos pulled from wedding magazines & blogs.  It so much fun to go back and look at the original inspiration when receiving event pictures back from the actual event set.  Here, we have a very specific style a bride was inspired by and you can see how beautifully it came to fruition.  Although this bride did not realize how focused her look was with the pictures pinned, when she stood back and saw them again through our designer eyes, she realized her seaside coastal style.  This was, of course, a result of her upbringing of being emerged in the activities surrounding the sea, from sailing to deep sea diving and everything in between. The look was subtle with respect to the chosen venue’s grand southern, elegant ambiance, but the overall feel most certainly acquired that coastal influence. The color palette exhibiting a fresh array of soft tropical hues. Corals and peach, an array of blues and greens in all tones and tints, with touches of buttery ivory, and deep pink created the basis for the look. We utilized a variety of natural textures including white coral & succulents, drift wood and Manzanita enhanced centerpieces, organic, woven lounge pieces, and a natural grain bookshelf displaying objects d’art in an upscale beach swept motif.
